This is how I did a room. Paint your wall the lighter color then mark off your stripes. Take some wide painters (blue) tape and tape the outside of your stripes, making sure your tape is secure to the wall, if it's not the paint will run under the tape then you won't have a clean line. Paint with darker color. Let paint completely dry, over night. Then remove tape. You should have perfect stripes!! Hope this helps!
Using blue painters tape to mark out the stripes.
Or sor something more "freestyle", you can get a 2" roller and try using it as straight as possible.
use the blue painters tape to make stripes on the walls. figure out how wide you want the stripes and tape accordingly. the tape comes in different widths so that might help you decide the size of the stripes. if you want 3 inch stripes with a small space in between then get the 1 inch blue tape and paint in between the stripes. use a level or even better get one of the laser levels(cheap) to help you with the straight lines. don't pull the tape off the wall until you feel the paint is dry. you can also use mirrors on the walls to make a room look bigger.
WHY DONT YOU WALLPAPER IT WITH STRIPED MATERIAL!
