Hi I need to mix 2.38 cu mtr of concrete for foundstions how many bags of sand cement and gravel will I need?
Question:
Answers:
foundations usually of a 1:2:3 mixture ratio.
1 bag cement
2 bags sand
3 bags gravel
a 40 kg cement covers .027 cu meter
make a 0.30 x 0.30 x 0.30 box to be used as measuring box
you will be needing:
for gravel
2.38/.027=88.15 boxes
for sand
(88.15 / 3) x 2 = 58.77 boxes
for cement
88.15 / 3 = 29.38
to summarize it all you will need 30 bags of cement, 2.38 cu meters of gravel and 1.59 cu meter of sand
dont be confused with the volumes for sand and cement as this will only fill the spaces between the aggregates (gravel)
You should probably have a concete company bring this in on a truck.
Have a look at this Page 4 - should give you the answer

Depends on what size bags are being used and the mix proportions used.
For 25kg bags ballast & cement = 133ballast & 36 cement.
40kg bags = 84 ballast & 36 cement.
1tonne bags = 4 ballast & 36 cement
I used a calculator on this site http://www.source4me.co.uk
