How do i find out how much meterial or sheeets i need to make curtains with/?
Question:I'm trying to make curtains from either sheets or material. How do I find out how much or many need?

Measure the size of the window that you want to cover and convert the measurement into square feet (L x W = SqF). Take those measurements to the fabric store and tell them how much SqF you want to cover and they will give you enough fabric to do the job. I would also plan for a 10% overage or waste due to sewing the seams, etc. Ex.- You have a window that is 32 inches x 64 inches, divide 32 by 12 (12 inches in a foot) which gives you 2.66; divide 64 by 12 which gives you 5.33; then take 2.66 x 5.33 and you get 14.19 SqF that needs covered. Add on the additional 10%, or 1.4 Sqf for a total of 15.5 Sqf of fabric that is needed to cover the window. Make sense?
m asure the length you want and cut the sheet in half if its a normal windo size it will work fine been there and done that you will have to him the cut part and the top and bottom and using sheets is smart cost less.
