Where can I find movements for outdoor clocks?

Question:My boyfriend had an idea to make an outdoor clock out of an old wagon wheel. Does anyone know of a source where I can buy a weatherproof movement for a clock?

Answers:
It sounds like you will need a rather robust outdoor movement to make a clock that big since the hands will be larger and heavier than most movements can support.

Here's at least one source.

Good luck-

Why don't you just cut a piece of flat stock steel and place it at twleve o'clock on the center of the wheel and place numbers on the circumferance representing the times of day.The old fashioned clock. Obviously you would be at a disadvantage on cloudy days buit this would work great and be a heck on a conversation piece.
Any clock maker should be able to provide what you are looking for as far as a mechanism is concerned.
