Is there a tool to dig up ground which is full of tree roots of all sizes?
Question:My underground sprinkler head is having problems popping up from the ground because the tree roots are pushing against its casing thus squeezing it (making it hard for the sprinkler to surface). I must now dig up the ground and remove all the roots intertwining around its casing to free up the tension.the problem is it is very, very difficult to dig up the ground because all those roots are in the way...I have tried using my half-moon shovel to no avail.is there a tool i can use to make this job easier so i can dig up the ground to 2 - 3 feet deep (1 foot wide) around my sprinkler.PLEASE NOTE THAT MY SPRINKLER IS IN PLACE AND SO TIHS TOOL NEEDS TO WORK AROUND IT!
Answers:
You can use a sawz all to cut the roots out of your way. They also make an irrigation shovel that is much narrower than a regular shovel.
ax, and a little hard work
