How do i hang a picture level on a wall?

Question:

Answers:
The best way would be to use a level. A torpedo level (small one) should be enough about $5- $10 at any hardware store. Or if you are planning on hanging many pictures, and would like to spend $30- $40 dollars you could get a laser light with built in level, and sticks to the wall while driving the nail, and no pencil marks needed. Also laser does not leave marks on wall when done.

With a wire across the back of the picture, use two hooks in the wall a few inches apart. You can't miss this way. Hang the picture and adjust it across the hooks until it is level.
my house is not level it is very old and settled 100 yrs ago . I measure from the nearest wall the top and bottom of picture , or the ceiling down to the left side then the right.
You can use a torpedo level or a laser level but if your ceiling/floors aren't level the picture may may still look a little off. I usually hang a picture using wire then step back and look at it to see how it looks and adjust accordingly. Sometimes I even walk away then come back to it to give my eye a fresh look at it. If I'm hanging more then one picture I use both a level and my eye to get all the pictures where I want them.
