When painting a room, is it better to paint the trim first or to paint the wall first?

Question:

Answers:
Depends on the color for me. If there's a big difference between them, paint the lighter color first. Otherwise similar colors I do the field first then the trim. Can go faster.

I paint the wall first.
personal preference. i find it easier to paint the wall first. painting the walls make a bigger mess with splashes and drips. the trim is more tedious and less apt for mess. it's easier to cut in the trim to the wall than the wall to the trim.
Lets just say the wall first. That way when you paint the trim and you get it on the wall by accident its easier the paint again.
Trim and corners first. Then followed by the wall.
Trust me, it's easier this way.
i always do wall first. that way i mask off any trim that might get speckled by roller. i do as little taping as possible as i have been painting for a long time. i have cut in using an angled brush and recently used a paint pad specifically made for cutting in. the pad was wonderful. if you do the trim first, u will have to wait until the paint is dry on trim before masking off. since i am on a roll, i highly recommend lowes american tradition paint and home depot behr. avoid cheap paint. it will cost u time and aggravation.
Yes, definitely paint the wall first... let it dry (really well) and put tape on the part of the wall touching the trim. Then do the trim. Good luck!
paint the trim first it's easier to cut in to the trim than it is to cut in to the walls

run a bead of latex caulk between the trim and the wall, smooth out the bead with a wet finger and it will look more professional
paint the trim and dont worry about getting any on the walls - you're going to cover this up when you paint the wall
The only hard part about painting is the prep. Caulk all cracks, seal all stains, and fill all holes first. Then paint all trim with an enamel paint.

Don't worry about being careful, you will cover the "over paint" with the flat wall paint when you paint the wall. It is also easier to clean flat wall paint from the enamel trim than to clean enamel paint from flat paint on walls. Plus, enamel paint is easier to paint over than the flat wall paint, especially if you have high grade paint and an expensive brush.
gloss paint first..then emulsion ceiling and walls..if u get emulsion on gloss it will wipe off.. gloss on emulsion is more of a problem.. hope that helps!
