Im making a shirt (well more than 1) with the days of the week on them. i was going to use iron-on transfers?

Question:but i dont want that plasticy feel to them, and im not very good at stenciling. any ideas? i know i can trim the iron-on transfer but it will still have the background of that plastic thing...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answers:
Hobby Lobby, carries iron-ons with different textures. Some are fuzzy, others are soft. Lots of different letter types too. I got some of the soft/fuzzy ones, for my daughter's soccer bag, and it came out cute.

Embroidary
Embroidery would be good.
fabric paint pens, or the acrylic paint for fabric, make a pattern and "pounce" it onto the fabric and paint it in.
pouncing is a traced drawing on paper with the outline punched through with a pin, then powdered chalk is dusted through the holes to tranfer the image...I knew you'd ask...
