Repairing Dewalt 14.4 volt batteries?

Question:I have several Dewalt 14.4 v batteries. Some won't hold a charge and some batteries are good, but have broken tabs on the plastic case that hold it to the drill. I'm trying to put the good batteries in the good plastic cases. Has anyone every opened the plastic case with out breaking it. I just was wondering before I started to pry on them.

Answers:
i did this with my Bosch batteries i even found a dead cell and removed it and jumper ed it the cells are 1.5 volts each

a little torx screw holding them together and 1 screw was hidden under a plug that i drilled out to reveal the screw.

there was a company on e-bay you could get single cells from. Ni cad cells are mostly the same size.

rip it open.. your only going to ruin the first if they are removable. volt check each cell
There is a company www.voltmanbatteries.com that will repair any type of cordless tool battery.
I saw something on this at instructables.com
