How do I measure concrete?

Question:I am going to add to my house, and need to know how much concrete to get for footings. The addition will be 20X20 2 story

Answers:
Concrete is measured by the cubic yard which is 27 cubic foot per yard. Total length of footings times width times depth will give you total cubic feet; divide that by 27 and that is your concrete order in yards A footing 1' wide by 2' deep by 80' long would be 160 cubic feet divided by 27 = 6 yds, always order 1/2 yard extra

Use this formula-width ft x lenght ft x thickness ft divided by 27=cu.yd needed of concrete.
