I have old outdoor house shutters that I would like to use in my garden. Any diy projects for me to use.?

Question:I have various size shutters and want to incorporate them into my garden. I thought if I hung them with hooks and eyes i could remove them for winter storage. I thought a wall/fence would be a good idea, but would like other diy project ideas.

Lucky you! I would make arch entry to the garden. Attach several togeather to make the sides the correct height. Then use your longest one for the top. To make it sturdy use metal "L" brackets. Make it fancy with those scroll Victorian corner do dads. Use small shutters or cut some in half and make planter boxes to attach on each side.Paint the whole thing with House Paint before assembly. Be sure and make a Garden Angel as suggested. Shutters with legs added makes a nice potting table. What a fun project! Good Luck

Make wind chimes. Hang them how you had suggested. Paint them creamy color with one kind of animal on each one. Try to make it animals that fly. And on the bottom you can incorporate that type of animal into the wind chime. Also, make one for the gaurdian angel of your garden.
if you can use it to make a nice private seating area with matching bench and table. or make [planters] or pergola for the garden. or a little house for the rabbit or chicken .
