I would think that you could get boric acid at a farm supply and there should be some of those around Whako. It is used as an insecticide, but the pharmaceutically pure was used for an eyewash long ago. We bought in it little round containers about the size of a frozen juice can.

It is poisonous, at least to a degree, and if you don't know how to use it, don't buy it.
