I need to know how to change an above ground pool. The old liner is still in and the sand is undisturbed.?

Question:It is a good quality 24' round pool surrounded by a deck - the deck does not extend over the pool edge - intentional on our part in case we needed to change liners. I have searched for local contactors, but no one does this kind of work.

Answers:
First you will need to take off the top rails that are going around the pool walls. Then you will remove the plastic clips that secure the liner to the pool wall. Then remove the old liner. Take the new liner and make sure you get it centered and overlap the edges over the pool walls and secure them with clothespins. Start adding your water. Get in the pool on your hands and knees while the water is filling up and push an wrinkles that are present to the outside and work them out. (This is a very important part because the wrinkles are hard to remove once you have alot of water in the pool.) As the pool fills up you will have to reposition your clothes pins to keep the liner up. After the pool is about 1/4 filled it get much easier to keep up with. When it is full remove all clothes pins, replace the plastic clips and top rails. A few pointers: Do not cut the hole for your skimmer and water outlet until the water level is almost the same height because the liner will stretch and move around some while filling up. Take off any jewelry that may rip the liner as you are working on it. Make sure you have sunscreen, water and as many people that you can recruit to help.
