Question:How can i level my front yard without a tractor? Cannot afford to?
rent one. I have bermuda grass planted in the front yard but it is somewhat unlevel. Is there anyway I could level it with just a pick up and sbuying some dirt? thanks

You could add soil and use a tamper to even out the ground while it's wet. You can also find a smaller lawn roller and push it across the yard. Or you could ask around and find someone who's willing to borrow you their tractor. If you lived by me you ccould borrow mine!

In the old days(before tractors) folks did it every day..you just need to find what is "level" and then fill in with soil to make it all even.

To find a even surface you just need to determine which side is the high side.put up a stake on that side...attatch sting and a string level(make sure to keep the string taught) and attatch to a stake on the low side..then just fill in the soil keeping an even distance from ground to level string.there you have it Level yard!
To do this properly. First get a weed killer. Apply to lawn and kill off old grass. Either hire Cultivator, which wouldn't be as expensive as tractor, and thoroughly cultivate ground. Taking out old grass and stones etc.Or do it by hand which will take longer. Level ground area. Use old plank dragged across ground to smooth soil and fill where there are depressions. You may need extra soil. Then seed with suitable lawn seed, and Voila! Youv'e got a new lawn. Good Luck!
