A shoe went through my double pain window and I need to replace it.?
Question:I live in Hayward Ca. Does anyone know of a cheap glass shop? The window from frame to frame is 48x36 inches. I have only about 100.00 to spare for it. I need Help!

You would be best to ring several glass merchants to get a quote, but check your insurance as it may be covered.
Since it's a double pane you may need to contact the maufacturer and get a replacement sash. Double paned windows are filled with argon gas for UV and energy efficiency so contacting a regular glass shop might be a fruitless effort. Contact a window retailer or the house builder's office if available. It should be a pretty easy swap out.
Look up glass in the yellow pages. Get three estimates on your window and take the cheapest. (if it is lower then 100.00).

They sent it off for repair. Ours cost $60
The panes are sealed because of the airspace between the panes, plus repaired in an enviroment so condensation is never a factor with the window.
Any glass shop can help you. They just have to send it off. Took a week to get it back.

Nearly every city of any size has a company that makes replacement windows. They all are double pained. They make the replacement windows to fit any size hole and it is usually a fairly small shop. Look in the phone book and call a replacement window company.
It shouldn't cost you but 30 to 40 bucks tops.
