Can you install Durock sideways?

Question:I would like to know if it's okay to install Durock vertically instead of horizontally.in other words is it okay to install it with the word Durock sideways?

Answers:
You can attach it either way as long as your connecting to studs.

what is durock .
Do you mean " can you put it on a wall "

Sure, use it just as if it was sheetrock.
We did a bathroom remodel a few years ago and I believe the people doing the ceramic tile used Durock behind it on the walls as well as the floor. I will tell you that by putting it on the walls, it has made that room really quiet. Good luck!
if your studs line up duarock is only 3 ft wide 5 ft long, i use it a lot on tile walls
Yes I do a bunch of ceramic tile and I use it every where, steps for a solid base walls floors you name it I have used it. there are many time we just use it for it's toughness as a lower drywall replacement when renters knock a hole in a wall or behind a door. Use it where you wish just make sure you secure it the way they recommend and it will work great.
Recommended use is to "cross" the framing", just as you would install sub-floor or sheet-rock.
