whats your trade a shotblaster car sprayer, powder coater? i know what your saying PPE is a pain in the a'ss. imagine being 40 foot up on the scaffold and the boss shouting up "wheres yer hard hat?" the only thing that will fall on my head is a sea gull crapping on it. but it is there to save lives, ive been on jobs and sliced my hand open because there was no gloves and had to tape the cut up with packing tape because there was no first aid box. all i can think off is air bags in cars being responsible for a few deaths.
My dad used to be an undertaker & many a death was caused by a persons seat belt melting & them not being able to get out of there cars before burning to death.nice eh?
How morbid! I have to say, I am thinking of Homer Simpson right now for some reason - he never needed any safety goggles, did he?
I have only ever heard of the odd seat belt death.no machinery types. I'd imagine it's a small number anyhow. And having all ones digits is nice, after all.
Tim "the Tool Man " Taylor comes to mind here! Shouldn't you be asking how many lives are saved by them. What's the problem? Are the goggles too heavy? The gloves covering your pretty nail polish? None of the safety equipment you mention is going to immobilize your lazy butt! But it Dam well might save you the visit to the ER. Are you the IDIOT that sued McDonald's?
I tripped and fell down a flight of stairs when the dust mask I was wearing fogged my glasses up :-(
Problem solved now, I use a trend one now much better fit than the throw away ones
