How do i unplug a clogged shower drain?

The Draino Gel is a good idea, I just had to do that on mine. If it's really bad - and it's probably not a bad idea to to this occasionally anyway - you might want to take the drain plug out and clean the junk from it by hand. BTW, this only work if your tub is the type that has a lift lever in the front of the tub under the faucet. Remove the two screws on either side of the cap that holds the lever. Now you can pull this out and a long threaded rod with a "plug" at the end will come out. It will probably have hair and who knows what hanging from it. Don't do this if you have a weak stomach. Clean the junk off and re-install it. Be careful to not the threaded rod twist too much in the plug or your tub might not hold water quite as well.

you'll probably have to "snake" it.. a snake is this device that sends really powerful gusts of air through the drain to get all the clogged stuff out... most of the time it's hair that clogs shower drains
snake
first remove the drain and pull everything out you can.
then put:

- 1/2 cup salt
-1/2 cup baking soda
and then 1/2 cup vinegar down and it will foam.
when it's done foaming, then turn on the HOT HOT water and let it fun for a minute or two.
that'll do it.
Use Drano Gel, following the directions carefully. You can buy plastic caps that are made especially for putting over shower drains, to catch hair, etc. They're well worth it.
straight bleach will dissolve hair
it probably has hair in the drain.
get needle nose pliers and pull the hair out
