I want to replace the tile in my bath / shower but do not want to use tile or a fiberglass surround. Ideas?
Question:The area I'm looking to cover is 3 walls above a bath tub, from tub to ceiling. The "middle" wall has an exterior window in it. Currently have 4.25 x 4.25 ceramic tiles that I will remove. Need something waterproof and trimmable.

You have several options. For a fast easy replacement there are also vinyl wraps that comes in a variety of styles. You can research on line or go to your local building supplier and ask for pamphlets showing the different varieties and makes that suits your needs.
Most DIYers can replace the surrounding in a shower with vinyl in just a couple of hours following manufacturer's directions. Cutting out the window is an easy task as well. Remove the frame work, have someone you can trust to hold panel in correct location and mark from outside. Tip: if doing it alone you can use a sticky liquid ( I like chocolate syrup, lol) to go around the perimeter and press the panel up to it to mark. Cleans off easy and brightly seen, just don't do an over kill when putting it on.
Be certain to use a trusted chalking and don't forget your window. You don't want water getting into your walls and into the insulation on that exterior wall.
I have used sheet vinyl flooring. There are many patterns and the cost compared to tile or a surround is minnimal. It can be installed easily in one piece for a perfect water seal
