About plumbing?

Question:At the moment the washing machine is plumbed into kitchen under sink. We are moving it to an area behind the down stairs tiolet under the stairs. Is it ok to plumb it from the pipes supplied to downstairs sink/tiolet?

Answers:
Yes, no problem with the feed/s (water in). Water out should be through washing machine trap (available from B&Q, Wickes etc etc) and you may need to change the size of the waste pipe running from the basin (where you would connect to the washing machine waste) from 32mm to 40mm. Take in a sketch of your waste pipe to B&Q/ Wickes etc etc, as they should have someone on hand who can tell you exactly what you need to do to meet the current waste water byelaws set by your ever friendly? local water authority (who also provide free advice).

Or you could contact a plumber who can help.

Sure. I'd plumb from the sink plumbing in the wall and make sure you don't forget to plumb the drain somehow also.
you can buy special washing machine connections that give a water tight seal as they pierce the pipes. providing you have pretty even water pressure throughout the house you shouldn't have a problem
yes no problem , you will just have to replace the waste trap to the sink so it can accommodate the waste for the washing machine..!
If you mean to connect it to the hot and cold water pipes, the answer is yes.
Yes its okay to plumb to sink, but dont plumb too near the toilet ie the pipe goingto the cistern. As this may affect the flush and fill when the washer is on.
yes ..it all comes off the same system
