Why has my downstairs hot tap lost all pressure?

Question:a few days ago my hot tap downstairs started coming out at a slight dribble but upstairs works fine. any ideas on how to put right

Answers:
check the screen in the aerator

could be scale build up in pipes. Or a blockage. Have you been doing any plumbing elsewhere in the house? Maybe something was dislodged. Also do you have any stopcocks that you need to check are turned on not off? Get a plumber Tuesday (Don't worry about calling them over the Bank Holiday as you will get charged 3x's as much! )

Just had a thought...is it your hot or cold tap and when was your boiler last serviced if it is was the hot tap??
Possible ball vave washer in tank in loft gone, water rising too high and submerging expansion pipe.
Check for an air lock in the pipes.
a leak some where ?? what out for weird smells or mildew
Probably a build up in the pipe over the years or possibly an air lock somewhere in the system
Check the water level in the supply tank. If thay is okay, then you have an airlock in the pipe to that particular tap.
Have you checked to see if tap as a filter fitted sometimes they get blocked up and are easy to remove and clean
sounds like your tap needs repairing,
change the washer or ceramic disc in tap, sometimes if you have a quarter turn tap, its cheaper just to replace the tap then replace the ceramic disc. good luck
