check recent issues of Consumer reports. They recently had an excellent article and reccomendations on all types of water filters, including reverse osmosis types.
The filter itself might seem affordable but it will waste a lot of water.
I have used a Watts Premier R.O. unit for years, been very reliable and replacement filters are available at reasonable prices on line or at Sam' Club. Check out their products at Watts-Premier.com
