How to cut a combination lock with bolt cutters?

Question:i forgot the combo to my lock on my shed. and i kno i can sludge and all thAT but actually i cnt or i will ruin my shed and i kno i could call a locksmith but thats too much

so i was wondering if a pair of 14" bolt cutters could cut the combo lock to my shed?
and i wondering if anyones done this b4 and how hard it is to cut?

Answers:
The trick to cutting a lock with bolt cutters is to have the longest handles possible on the bolt cutters. The cutter doesn't cut, it brakes the harden steel. The longer the handles the easier it will snap.
Yes, I have done this before.

it's easy. might want to get the 24" cutters -- easier still.

just be sure you cut the straight part of the "U", not the curved part. The curve in the U makes it hardest there.

happy breaking and entering!
it really easy, kinda like cutting tree branch just a bit harder. Just put the cutters on the lock and sip.
Put the lock as far into the jaws as possible. Then squeeze the handles together as much as you can. If it doesn't snap. Just give the bolt cutters a little twist.
I have a friend who owns storage garages.

They use an electric angle grinder to grind through the lock shackle. I've done that-- it works better than trying to use a bolt cutter.

Many locks have hardened steel just designed to resist bolt cutters.
