Crochet problem?
Question:I crocheted a hexagon now I want to turn it into a oblong quilt for a bed and not sure how to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a pattern.

I suggest looking at other patterns, such as http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/chs-he... for inspiration on how to proceed.
If you're more of a "free spirit" kind of person, you may be interested in checking out the "freeform" technique -- there's no pattern for it, you just change your stitches/fibers/colors where your heart tells you to. (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

well my Aunt used to always say "if you do it once its a mistake" ..."if you do it twice its a pattern" so with that said you could always create your own pattern!
I did something similar in high school. I'd gone on a spree crocheting dozens of assorted colored hexagons. These were all Granny Squares (funny for a hex theme, huh?), 6 rings deep.
After I'd gotten all the Granny Square hex swatches out of my system I figured out a workable color pattern, then proceeded to piece them into a blanket.
Long story short... I ended up double crocheting fill-in areas along the perimeter. Hexes folded in half and joined that way might've worked too, but would've given a very bulky edge. Anyway, when all the fill-in work was completed I did a couple of double crocheted rows around the entire blanket edge. It gave the finished piece a more "intentional" (vs. experimental) presentation.
FYI... You might enjoy the Hobbies & Crafts section. To find it go to: All Categories > Games & Recreation > Hobbies & Crafts. There's all kinds of neat stuff to be found. Have fun!
