How do I straighten crooked legs on a bookshelf?

Question:I bought a bookshelf and am currently assembling it. It uses cam-lockes to hold everything together. The instructions say to stand it on a hard flat surface to see if it wobbles. It does. They then say to "adjust the legs" ... How?

There has to be a toll free customer service number, call them

Not knowing the particular brand and model of product you are using, it is difficult to tell you exactly what is wrong. However, I am familiar with 'cam locks' that are typically found in furniture. You want these to be as tight as possible. Usually, the pieces are all cut to account for an exact amount of rotation of the cam -- provided you inserted the post far enough. It sounds to me, like you have not achieved a 'tight joint' yet. Check the cam screws (aka 'posts'), make sure they are screwed in all the way. (They usually have a 'shoulder' that will stop the screw/post from going in any farther, if the shoulder is not all the way to the surface, the joint is going to be loose, leaving the structure wobbly) I would check those, and the cams. The cams need to be rotated, as I stated earlier, all the way -- this can be difficult at times.

If you can provide a link to the furniture manufacture/model, or photo's, we can give you more specific information.

Good Luck
