Can you paint over a 1 day old painted room?

Question:i just painted my room today...
to realize that it is the ugliest color in the world...

i expected a nice clean baige, but it came out like a light brown mustard color.

so tomorow i want to repaint it since i already have everythin taped off and no furniture in the room.

but my question is

can i paint over the old color with a flat enimel sytle slate-blue by tomorow?

the paint already feels dry.

and if i can paint over it by tomorow. is it do-able without using primer because im kinda spending more than i expected by purchasing this new paint..

thanks in advance

If you only used one coat, and depending on what time you finished, it'll probably be ok to paint over by tomorrow. Slate blue will likely cover the ugly color fairly easily, but are you sure you want to use a flat paint? It's very hard to keep clean.

Check the label on your paint can; it should give you the complete dry time.
It will definitely take more than one coat to cover up the mustard color, but yes, you can paint right over the top of it.

Set up a fan to help dry the paint in the room over night just to make sure it's nice and dry. It doesn't need to be bone dry, but drier is better.

Good luck with the slate blue!
in a nut shell-YES-if the paints dry---and Blue is one of the best "covering"colors so no to the primer but I always like to do 2 coats with a color change-ya might get by with one but plan on two coats
i think if u paint it over the beige, ur going to wind up with some funky color. i suggest u use the primer so u can can the color u actually want without worrying that the blue is going to mix with the beige and create some different color then the one u want. i think its better to buy some primer then to regret it later and use more of the blue paint u wasted.
Yes you can definately paint over the old panit by tomorrow. That's not a problem at all even with oil based paints, BUT! Are you sure you want to use flat paint?? It marks VERY easily and is a real pain to clean because you just make more marks. I would recommend using no less than an eggshell paint which is one sheen above flat. It's washable and gets less marks.
Well let me guess, you bought Navajo White. Yes you can paint over it by tomorrow, unless you painted it with a gloss or a semi gloss, then you need to sand ,or primer to enable the new paint to stick to it. Get a GOOD brand don't skimp or you'll be doing a second coat. Get a good one coat coverage. about 28 dollars a gallon. maybe even more. Get a flat enamel, I suggest Glidden or Glidden. I don't ike Behr. Bye
Yes, you can repaint over the old after one day. You can also do it without using a primer unless your doing a major color change. I would put two coats on and you can apply those two coats in one day. Start on one wall and work your way around the room. Cut in that one wall and then roll it out. Then start on the next wall by doing the same. You can use a flat paint. If you go to Sherwin Williams they carry a product called Duration Interior Matte that is the only washable flat paint on the market. It is also burnish resistant meaning that if you rub up against it and you get a mark all you need to do is take a towel with some water and lightly wipe it off. It will not take the paint off.
Yes you can paint over the old color. As long as the paint has dried for 4 hours or more, that is the dry to re-coat time on most paints just check your paint can. The next step is to prime over the old paint using KILZ 2 or KILZ premium primer its the best in the world #1 because it works. If you don't want to prime you can use KILZ casual colors at wal-mart and pick out a color from the color center that says KILZ on it and its guaranteed ONE COAT COVERAGE over any color on your wall. Its was rated #2 behind BEHR in the last Consumer reports on interior paint. 100% acrylic the best part is you can even scrub the Flat pain so your color wont wash off your wall when you wash it. As long that the paint is dry and you are using the same kind except in a different colour you're okay !
