post signs at your local hardware stores if they'll allow you to.
Other good places to post this kind of information include places like Tractor Supply, Tractor Sales locations, Lowe's (if they'll allow it) or Home Depot (if they'll allow it).
Yahoo has a group call freecycle, check out the one in your area, and post it, I am sure someone will take the wood, people are always looking for wood
if it's good wood, stack it neatly at the curb and it'll be gone before you know it. If it's not good firewood, wait until the trash people haul it off. Otherwise, put a little in a trash can every pickup day til it's gone. The organic material will be good for the landfill since it'll encourage breakdown activity.
Advertise it for free at www.craigslist.com and the person interested picks it up at your conveinance!
