Where on the chain and what hole in the lever should i attach the hook in my toilet tank?

Question:should the chain be as long as the height of the lever?
is it true that the farthest hole from the pivot is the most easiest?

Answers:
Pick the hole directly above the flapper, and experiment on the length. It should have only a slight slack when the flapper is in the down position. Too much chain, and it either gets caught up in the flapper, or it will not pull it open.

> You want to have enough range of motion to lift the flapper valve up to stay open until it closes on it's own.
> You want to position the chain close to the handle but you also don't want to push the handle down so far as to hit the top of the tank cover to get the valve to open.
the best position is diretly above the stopper and close enough so the the stopper can close with ease.
