Answers:
These are all correct so far, I just want to add that you should never wear gloves. They can get caught in the blade. and remove rings, watches and necklaces.
Good luck and have fun
rule 1--don't cut your fingers off
rule 2-- watch the blade not your hand or the wood
rule 3-- don't wear any loose clothing or let hair hand down.
rule 4-- wear safety glasses( regular glasses don't count)
rule 5-- use saws when other people are near by ( just in case you disregarded rule 1)
First off ,make sure your work area is clean and uncluttered. Make sure not to wear loose fitting clothes,if you have long hair that it's tied up and out of the way, use safety protection.Eye goggles.Secure your work with clamps keep fingers away from cutting blade Do not force the tool . Remove adjusting wrenches or keys before turning on the tool Maintain tool . Keep bystanders away. Keep firm footing, .That goes for all of these.
Read, understand, and follow all the safety manuals that come with the tools. Never, ever, remove or lock out any of the safety guards that come with the tool.
Wear eye and ear protection. No loose clothing. Keep your hands out of the path of the blade, ALWAYS use a scrap piece of wood for a push stick. If you must adjust the machine...UNPLUG it!
For Table and Circular saws, especially, watch for "kickback". This is where the wood binds on the blade, and gets tossed back at you violently...trust me it sucks. Keep the blades sharp - dull blades bind more. If the saw binds or becomes overloaded - shut it off immediately.
Dust collection is nice to have, especially on your table saw if you plan on using it alot.
Perform and record regular periodic maintainance on all tools. Especially notice any frayed electrical cords...replace if needed.
Respect your tools, use common sense, be aware - You'll be just fine. Good Luck!
