How do I fit my washing machine in the cellar?

Question:We live in a 2 bedroom back to back, the living room and kitchen are all one room, our cellar is clean and dry, so to make more space available I am thinking of making a wash room out of the cellar. Just one MAJOR problem, how can I plumb the waste pipe from the washer to the outside drainage point? The rise from the washer to the drain would be 1.8 meters. Can I just fit a check valve or would I need to purchase a macerator? The house is rented so I DONT want to spend that much money. Is there any way at all of doing this or should I just forget about it. All other plumbing and electrics are in place, its just the drainage.

The washing machine pump won't lift that high! One solution would be to fit a Saniflow Sanivite, or similar unit, if it's only for waste from the washer you wont need a macerator, the smallest model would do. Otherwise you could install a shower and toilet!!

A normal washing machine will not pump the waste that high, your best best is to get free standing macerate. Saniflow make a compact unit that will pump up to 5 meters high.
