Anyone ever deal with carpenter bees? What should I do?

Question:

Answers:
Your wood is dried out and you need to either paint, stain or a wood perservative, carpenter bees love dry wood!

Yup get that wood treated (paint, stain). The bees are easy enoughto get rid of with any flying insect killer. They aren't aggressive so you can get right up close. After you got rid of them treat the wood or they WILL BE BACK!
You can fill in the holes they made with outdoor wood filler or expoxy filler for wood. I've even used paintable lattex caulk on high eves.
Carpenter bees look big and scary, but they are not that aggressive as far as bees are concerned. However, they can be pests because they like to make their homes in wood, especially if it's dead or brittle. You should probably have any dead or brittle wood around your place removed then have any new wood treated with carpenter bee repellants. Sometimes a simple coat of paint is all that is needed to repell them.
hit them with a tennis racket, the males don't have stingers andthey are the ones that buzz around
give them tool belts, hammers, saws and put them to work
