What flower should I plant?
Question:I live in southern Texas, but my yard is rather shady. There's this huge pecan tree, that's why. I would like to plant it in a box on my window sill, so it would be better if it were rather small.
Basically, I need a small plant that likes shade. also, what kind of box do I use? just one of those window boxes?
Could you put any variating flowers in a list?
Answers:
There are several things you could plant: roses are pretty, impatiens do really well in the shade, begonias are a good plant and if taken good care of grow really good.
Also you may use a window box or just about any type of flower box they will all work with these plants. When planting I recommend using Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Soil it gives you all the regular nutrients you would find in potting soil as well as the nutrients you would find in fertilizer. I believe that the Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Soi is perhaps the best potting soil Miracle-Gro offers. It is usually about $7 at your local Walmart for 1 cubic ft.
Red Roses.
impatients, hostas, lily of the valley, coleus all like shade--impatients have the more noticable flowers. coleus are a varigated leaf plant
