A digusting smell eminating from my sink?
Question:I think a little bit of food went down the wrong sink drain. Now its reeks like a dead animal. How can I get it to smell better?
Answers:
flush the drain with hot soapy water and a cleaned toilet plunger, then pour some diluted bleach down drain just before bed (40% solution) in the morning run more very hot water down and the odor will be gone. ( this is all assuming you are not getting the smell from a food disposer)
It's probably a clog, get some drano max or get under the sink and open the pipe to get it out.
Pour some vinegar into the sink drainage.
Bay
before you go to bed, pour a litre of buttermilk down the drain. the enzymes in the buttermilk will eat up the bacteria & it will no longer smell rancid
Bleach... pour some down the drain and do not run any water thru the drain for at least an hour.

If you are in the uk you can buy sink and drain unblocker called Mr Muscle. Or you could take the waste pipe apart and clean it yourself. It is probably not just a piece of food but a build up of soap scum and grease.Not forget to put a bucket under it before you start or you'll have to wash the kitchen floor as well. If you are thinking of using bleach please don't mix it with any other cleaner the fumes are lethal and you will probably turn your lungs inside out. Hope that helps.
Boil a large pot of water. When it comes to a boil, pour it down the drain!
This method has cleared a lot of drains for me!!
pour baking soda down then vinegar(white is best) baking soda will absorb odor adding vinegar will give you some good bubbles and will clean out drain let it sit for about 15 Min's or longer for better action then rinse out with hot water when you are all done you can squeeze a fresh lemon or orange down the drain for extra fresh smell.
