How do you secure ceiling fans to the ceiling in new build spanish houses?

Ceilings here tend to be very fragile, and often there is no wooden beam to screw things into. what I have seen most often is a system whereby a hole 3/4 inch or so is made in the celing, into which a large spring clip is inserted, and a hook is screwd into that. the fitting is then hung on the hook, and the clip spreads the weight. I wouldn't want to swing on it, but it does seem adequate, and the fitting covers the hole.
Sorry jimmy- but I wasn't asked what was good, I was asked how it was done, and that's how it's done- I live in a new-build Spanish flat.
Whoa.. dont even try that first answer..
you do have rafters in the ceiling and there are several ways to mount the ceiling fan. goto home depot and in the electrical they can help you select the proper mount for your purpose
lots of spanish ceilings dont have beams, they are either done with bricks or concrete. I know because I have just moved back to the uk after having lived there for 3 years, our ceilings were what they call skinny bricks then concrete, more modern ceilings are rashiones and then concrete poured over, we fitted a ceiling fan and we had to screw blocks of wood to the ceiling then the fan to that, you will find you need the fan on all night and every night in the summer phew, hot
