Oak is the best wood for Wainscoting

GREAT IDEA FOR DOING 1/2 WALL WITH A NICE CHAIR RAIL ON TOP PAINTING THE LOWER HALF OF THE WALL A DARKER COLOR AND LIGHTER ON TOP..
We have it on the wall in our basement. The top half is painted and the bottom is wainscoting with molding.
