What kind of weed killer will get rid of the white clovers that grow around the house that attract bee?
Question:my mom has clovers around the front of the house and the side of the house near the swimming pool and i got stung by a bee yesterday and was wondering what type of weed killer will kill the clovers so the bees want be around. i sat outside today and saw 5 or more bees. my children play outside near the clovers and i don't want them to get stung. my mom thinks that if you spray the clovers it will kill the grass around it. i'm thinking so at least no one will get stung again. i guess it will take them to get stung before something gets done about it. i would love to go swimming again without getting stung.
Answers:
Garden centers sell a concentrated product that will kill clover and chickweed, and it does not harm grass. You will need a garden sprayer to apply, and follow directions. It will not burn grass when applied properly, and it's easy.
You can also find it at many Lowes and Home Depot stores.
Ortho Weed-B-Gone. Kills broadleafs, not grasses.
Weed B gone or a similar product will kill the clover But consider this. Clover is very beneficial to lawns and people actually pay to have it in their lawns. Maybe what needs to be done is to buy flowers and place away from the play area that will more readily attract the bees. Some tall phlox or snapdragons would probably do the trick.
Bees are beneficial and if you leave them alone theyll leave you alone, plus the worlds population of good bees is running out so its not a good idea to kill them.
You can just clip the flowers with a hedger if you don't want to use a weed killer. No flowers no bees.
Or you can use a concentrated selective broadleaf weed killer called Triple Threat. Not at the stores but you can get it here with free delivery;
