Nail gun with cedar clap board?
Question:I am putting cedar clap board on my house and I was wondering if i could use a nail gun. Someone told me it could shatter the boards so I have to nail them in by hand but what if I run the gun at like 60 PSI?

use "ring shank" siding nails and leave the pressure alone, you need the be able to penetrate the material behind the siding.
My husband says that using a lower pressure would be just fine - he's used a nail gun with cedar before.
You don't say what type of nail gun your talking about, they make a gun specifically made to put up clapboards, I wouldn't recommend using a framing gun, you should use stainless steel nails when installing cedar
if you can use a gun that you can adjust the penetration on they should be fine
