Is there a product that I can coat my ugly countertops with so I don't have to replace them?

Question:In kitchen and bath

Answers:
at Michaels craft store (and hardware stores) they sell resurfacing kits... you can make it look like stone. spray it on, let dry and spray on another coat... and then you have to spray a sealer on it and then it will be safe to get wet

i did this with an ugly plastic marble looking bathroom sink and it looks cool now! i did it in speckled sandstone.
the sink is a single and vanity is the 2door 3 side drawer size. i was able to cover counter with 1 kit.

easy to do - the dry time takes the longest.
good luck!

ther is a product at home depot or lowes that make them look like granite. Check on their websites
yes, but you'd have to primer them first then add the paint appropraite to the material you are working on
Yeah Formica. Its the thin layer already on your countertops... they sell it seperately. You'd have to have it custom cut for you but much cheaper than replacing the whole thing. Don't use paint either... dangerous (since chemicals will come in contact with food), and looks like crap.
I replaced my kitchen countertop for $50. Home Depot and Lowe's have discontinued items all the time. Took about 2 hours to do, and it's MUCH easier and cheaper than tiling your counter, which is your other realistic choice. You will need a plug-in (NOT battery powered!) trim saw to cut the countertop with (or a router). Try to borrow one, or (in a pinch) .buy it and return it. Not the most honest way to get the job done, but you mentioned that you wanted to stay on a budget..

Good luck.
Melamine paint works wonders on countertops etc.It lasts forever if done properly.
Follow the directions on the can for prep work and painting.
I think it would be a good idea to check out the Home depot or a Loewe's if you have one in your area. They have all types of remedies for house hold problems. It would depend on the type of material the counter top is made of. sometimes you can use filler or stain to improve the appearance. Once you have determined the material you are working with you can even google and see a picture of before and after treatments. I find really good answers at this old house .com too. Check out everything and you will save money.
You can probably ask them the questions on line and save time and gas.
home depot or lowes sells a product to do this
there is a product called grip it that primes the counter tops so that you can paint them or whatever else you want to do to them
