I had a mud slide into my pool and now it is a mud puddle. How do I clear the water to see whats on the bottom
Question:The water is so murky that I can't see the sides or the bottom to see how much sediment is there. Do you know of any pump that can filter the water or ways of clearing it up to see what I'm dealing with on the bottom?
Answers:
try using aluminum sulfate .
you will have to dump pool then see what you are dealing with
i know you are trying to do it cheaply but evacuation of a pool involves a pump thats about it.
My kids thought it would be cool once to shovel a bunch of dirt and sand into our pool. What a mess. Unfortunately, I think your only option here is to pump it out, clean it, and refill. Check your local phone book for septic pumping services. These are the guys that come out and pump septic tanks and other types settling/cess pools. Normally they don't deal with the type of volume you probably have but their equipment can certainly pull up the muck and get the water out. It usually cost us around $150 to have our two 1000 gallon septic tanks pumped. Another option would be to call your local pool dealer and ask their opinion. I'm sure this isn't the second time someone has had this happen either naturally or kid induced. Good luck.
Try hydrated lime. Sprinkle the lime over the water surface and it should cause suspended solids to sink.
