How do I hook up a sink drain to a waste water collection bottle on a portable sink setup?
Question:I have a small poolhouse that the kids use for sleepovers. It doesn't have any plumbing but has electricity. I have made a small bathroom with a portable toilet and now I have installed a vanity for which I would like to have running water mainly for tooth brushing and a quick hand/face wash. I have come across a pump that will pump water from a watercooler bottle though a faucet but now I need to figure out how to hook up the bottle to the drain of the sink that will be collecting the wastewater. Also, the pump system I am interested in only dispenses cold water. Does anybody know of a way or a system that I can use to heat the water too?
Answers:
The drain would/could go to a container right under the sink or could go thru the wall to the outside of poolhouse using std PVC pipes glued up as nessary. No trap needed since it is "gray" water and not "waste" water. The only stipulation is that the container be slightly larger capacity than the watercooler bottle capacity.
The heated water can be solved by doing a search on the internet for "instant hot water taps" and choosing a system from the hits. They might be kind of pricey.
Hi, I agree with DON R on the drain, on the hot water, they do sale hot water taps at LOwes or Homedepot BUT they are HOT water, you want warm water, might be tacky but you could look in the camping section or walmart, kmart etc they make a "solar shower" that could be modified to fit your needs, its a large water "bag" that the sun heats up to give you warm water
