How do you remove vertical blinds, (the whole contraption)?
Question:There is a slidey tab in the back (on the side of the window) that is flush with the top of the window sill that slides back in forth, but that's all I can get it to do. Please can you tell me in DETAIL how to take it off so I can put up mini blinds? I WILL PICK A BEST ANSWER!

Just look for the screws holding it in there. it should not be that hard. just use a little common sense.
The screws holding them might be on the track on the top , just look for them.
just slide it and yank up and out.that's what locks it in place. and what do you care- are you using them somewhere else in the house or throwing them out and replacing with minis? remove old hardware and install new.
you have to just dive right in and tug at things. don't pull too hard & you will be fine with the wood.
the vertical blinds support and mechanism won't be good for your mini blinds, why not install a separate bracket and support for the mini blindes.
