How do you remove and replace a cracked window pane? It is a really cheap window.?
Question:It is a small 2 foot by 2 foot window (approx). I want to do it myself because my landlords will charge me big bucks.

Simply put, you need to remove what ever is holding the glass in the sash, whether it be putty or some sort of stop. This could be either inside or out, depending on the window. If you succeed in this removal, the glass may also be sealed on the opposite side with sealant or putty. You may have to release this by running a utility knife betweem the glass and the stop. Make sure you`re wearing gloves and glasses(obviously). Providing you`ve gotten this far, take your glass measurement to the HDW store and have glass cut(don`t forget to measure the thickness). Pick up a tube of clear silicone for the reinstall.
It all depends on how bad the crack is in the glass, but a pro is going to have to come out and fix it if they can. Glass is made from sand, so for small cracks they can heat it up and remove the small chip, but with bigger cracks you will just have to bite the bullet and pay for a new window.
You don't say whether you have a puttied window, or a modern one. If there is putty holding pane in, you remove old putty. You will find there are tiny triangular pices of metal in the putty. These are pane supports. You measure internal measurement of glass, place it back in frame, hopefully resting it on the pane supports. The supports will stick into wood. Then you need new putty, and push it in around window frame.Leave to dry for 48hours. Make sure you put putty in, when weather is dry.If your window is a modern frame, then you can take it out, fit as previous, and fit the rubber seal back in.Take care!
