Jigsaw To Cut Pipes?
Question:I need to cut some steel pipes that are easily accessible in my walls (I tore the sheet rock down already), and I was wondering if using a jigsaw with a proper metal cutting blade would hurt my jigsaw or do I need to borrow a sawzaw?

I've cut steel with my jigsaw, John. You may blunt a blade or twp, but the saw will be OK if you don't push it too far. I did that once, but all it did was bend the blade.
With the right blades and not forcing the cut .A jigsaw is fine and actually more controllable than the saws all.

it shouldn't hurt the saw, no more than any other use would. you will probably go through a lot of blades though. exactly what do you mean steel pipes? galvanized steel water pipes? conduit? Steel water pipes should be ripped out and replaced with copper. if it's conduit, you might be cutting into a live circuit, then you will really have fun dancing around the room and wondering why you got the bleep shocked out of you.
A saws all would be the best!
A jigsaw with a metal blade will work. A saws-all will take less effort. If you can borrow a saws-all, that's what I'd do. Keep in mind that a saws-all has a longer stroke, so you will have to adjust the depth so you don't damage the wall behind. And keep in mind the comments about electrical wires and/or water.
yeah,you can use it,but be sure you use the right blades(fine teeth),and by using it you don't have to force it moving forward so quickly,just go with a flow and relax.
