Best wallpaper remover? can not get the glue off?

Question:boarder over paint-vinyl comes off but white backing and glue remain

Answers:
I was skeptical, but a friend told me to use fabric softener. I bought the store brand and cut it 50/50 with water. As the spray bottle emptied about halfway, I kept adding water. I did an entire bathroom without replacing the fabric softener. I sprayed, waited a minute, and it peeled like butter!! Added benefit: it smells great.

steam. let warm water soak into paper backing for a bit before trying it
Water mixed with dishsoap. Score the paper backing and soak the mixure in with a sponge. Glue will slide off with a putty knife-
Takes a while but it is the least threatening to your wallboard-
Well, I had that problem with my bathroom. One friend told me to use the liquid laundry soap, and use it instead of water. I wasn't brave enough to try that so I just took a sponge and soaked the wall with water. Then I let it sit for like 5 minutes and then I scraped it off with the thing that you use to spread dry wall. Sorry, I can't remember what its call. But thats what i did and it went really fast. Good Luck!
Have you tried with a vaporizer or steam iron? You put it over the stain till it's soften and clean it with a spatula if its too thick or with a cloth. Be careful not to damp the wall or you might get humidity stains.
If this is the bathroom, maybe you can run the hot water in the tub to get Steam into the air - shut the door to allow it to build up.
After about one hour go in and try to scrape, if it still don't work then wet it down further but do not try to remove it immediately after you wet it down - you want to allow time for the paper to soak - up the water, maybe 10 - 15 minutes then try removing it. If it still gives you a problem at this point it is time that you also use the steamer as suggest. You may have to incorporate several methods here, and not just one will remove the paper.
I would say though, before you even begin go over it like an Easter Ham, cut into the paper with an Utility knife, cut on the 45 diagonal across the wall, then the opposite direction to create the diamond effect - this will allow the water / steam an easier path to seep into the paper.
Mix up half water and half white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray it on the wallpaper and wait about 5 minutes. The vinegar is slightly acidic and breaks down the glue enough for you to remove most of the paper backing and glue. I've removed loads of wallpaper this way.
I have to agree with Kyreales, water/vinegar mixture in a spray bottle. You can strip 100 year old wallpaper off plaster walls and have fun.you can't beat it. Don't need to worry about scoring the wall either, everything soaks into the paper and it peels right off virtually effortlessly.
they make a product called diff you can find it at all hardware stores put it in a spray bottle mix alittle stonger than they say spay it on the paper itwait 15 min and it takes paper and 90% all glue any glue left over warm water and a sponge
there is a product called "DIF"works great no mess
