We have a glass top stove (range). Somehow a plastic bowl was left on a hot eye. We poured water to...?

Question:stop the burning/melting. Now there is a big blotch of 'something' on it..how do I clean it?

Answers:
a razor window scraper one came with my stove with a bottle of surface cleaner that is made for glass top stoves. look for the small bottle where appliances are sold.

I have lots of glass cookware found copper scrubbing pad will not harm glass but other pads leave fine scratches.

well, it is baked on plastic, an oil product, which is ken to grease, which gets baked on ovens all the time. I would use Easy Off. Don't use anything abrasive! you were lucky the glass didn't crack when the water was applied.
if you are referring to melted plastic,
let it cool, possibly freeze it, and it should peel/crack off, if not, try nail polish remover and and egg flipper,

Been there done that, take the razor advice.
We use baking soda or Bon Ami to clean ours.
I use Weiman - Glass Cooktop Cleaner - It's amazing stuff.

You might call the manufacturer or the store where you bought it, they usually have wonderful ideas to help you solve your problem.

Or call HomeDepot or Low es, I found the people in there very helpful and willing to answer my questions.

Best of luck.
The only way I know of is to use a scraper tool that is made for this type of surface. you do not want to use Easy Off as it is very caustic and may etch the glass surface and damage any thing else it comes in contact with. A stiff plastic putty knife or ice scrapper may come in handy .
Likely the same way you would remove that from any glass. You will have to use a very sharp scraper and hope you don't gouge the glass. A single-edge razor blade scraper would be the way to go. You might warm the surface for a few seconds before hand.
you are lucky you didn't crack the top
