Can i use romex 12/3 wire for 20 amp?

Question:

Answers:
yes 12 gauge is rated at 20 amps,

YES #12 WIRE RATED FOR 20 AMPS. ROMEX IS ONLY GOOD FOR PROTECTED APPLICATIONS. IT'S NOT SUITED FOR DIRECT BURY. YOU'LL NEED A UF RATED WIRE IF IT NEEDS TO BE BURIED OR USE A PVC CONDUIT.
The above answers are correct, but also consider the length that the wire is running. If the run is more than 75 ft., you should step up a guage.
whoa, many factors need to be known first ...
is this a 20 amp load? then NOOOO you need at least #10(you cannot run a 12 wire for a load over 16 amps...
then their is length of run, and voltage drop.if its a long run you also may need to use #10. If the load is 15/16 amps max then you can use #12 only if then run is not excessive( like 200 feet
Absolutely.
