Do I need to seal the grout on the walls in the bath/shower, as well as the floor?

Question:This is a brand new installation and the tile guy did not seal any of the grout. What is recommended?

Answers:
Sealing the grout is not necessary. It is optional (in most cases) and is mostly an expensive nearly useless task for bathrooms. If the tile is an unpolished natural stone such as slate i would suggest sealing but I assume it is not because those a nearly always sealed to bring out the colors. For ceramic or porcelain tile I never seal the grout.

I sealed mine to make it easier to keep clean and in the hopes that mildew and mold wouldn't take root. I used a paint on grout sealer on both the wall and floor.
Yes,you need to seal it. They sell tile grout sealer ,and you can apply it with an artists paint brush or Q-tip. Bye
seal it
seal it with silicone sealer made for grout
