Depends. If you're trying to build one for the RedBull contest in Rhode Island in October, I'm willing to bet it's impossible.
Best thing to do though is go to the junkyard. You could probably find a rudimentary steel frame, possibly a steering assembly, and probably a braking assembly for not a whole lot of money.
Other than that, just get cheap plywood from the hardware store and start sawing! Good luck.
dont think we spent a dime on my car ! most of your steering and frame work you can get out of a lawnmower. you can easily obtain these from your local dump or local man that works on mowers. i did not win the derby but sure had fun building it and playing on the hills in our town.
