Help, my son used a embosssing heat tool and burned spots in my carpet does anyone know how to fix this.?
Question:it is not completely thru the carpet the carpet in the spots is just black and crispy.
Answers:
At this point, you need to accept two facts: 1- that area of the carpet is permanently charred, and 2- you son really needs to look past the immediate work.
That said, there really is a fix to reduce/eliminate the burn spots!
The typical solution is to go to a hidden area, like a closet and remove a swatch of the carpet. This swatch will be the donor. I recommend getting some rigid item, such as a cookie sheet (it all depends on the size of the burn!) and use it as a template. Place it over the donor area, in an area that is rather hidden, and use a razor knife to cut the carpet and the pad.
Now go to the charred area and use the same template to cut the burned area out. Do the best you can to pay attention to the "grain" of the stitching so that the seam is as invisible as possible. Use a commercial carpet adhesive to glue the carpet (and pad) into place.
You might consider first gluing the charred swatch in the hidden place to get a little practice. After testing your technique on the hidden area, you are ready to move to the visible area. Make sure you glue both the pad and carpet, and place a weight over it until it dries. After drying, brush out the seam with your hand to better hide it.
There is a good tutorial with pictures at the link I've included below.

Good luck on the carpet. Remember: the carpet area is ruined. Don't be shy trying to repair it!
This is fixable!
Get a bottle of clear alcohol (preferably Vodka)
Get a hairbrush ( Big heavy one is best)
Drink the Vodka
Beat your kid with the hairbrush for ruining the carpet
Repeat until you feel better
buy a area rug and cover it up.
take a pair of scissors and start at the top and cut down little by little until you get to the fresh carpet. there is no way to clean the burn marks out, if thats what you were asking. if there is any burn smell use like oxiclean, or an enzyme cleaner to remove.
Use scissors and snip off the black crispy parts. Leave as much pile as possible. Hopefully if will blend back in for you.
If the spot is really bad, you can have a patch installed in your carpet. If you don't have any left over carpet from your installation, you may be able to rob carpet from a closet to use as a patch. If a patch is necessary, call a reputable carpet shop and have an expert seam in the patch to prevent fraying.
If all else fails, try option 3.... use throw rugs.
Not knowing what king of carpet it is, several suggestions! If carpet is not burned too deeply into knap, cut burn out with scissors. If that is not possible, any carpet company should be able to repair by cutting piece of carpet out of closet and repairing/replacing burned spot. However, to assure this doesn't happen again, I would reccomend getting rid of kid! You don't mention age, but how attached can you be to him! Good luck either repairing carpet or losing kid!!!
