How to install underground drainage?
Question:i need advice and some help as i am installing 2 new toilets for the first time
Answers:
digging a hole in your backyard and calling it an outhouse is about what you are after.
It's not drainage you need it's sewage. You either have a septic system or city sewage. If you don't know don't attempt this.
Either way you need to locate your main sewer line out, cut/dig a hole that is 1/4 inch deep for every foot from your main to the toilet plus nine inches (5 for the 4" pipe 4 for the concrete to fill back in.) Pipe in a 4" line
For the vent you'll need a 2" T off either tieing in with your existing vent or venting itself through your roof. Place the tee as close to the closet flange as possible. Check the code in your area if you have to go beyond 2 feet.
You have to tell us what you want to know. Give more information. then we can help you.
get a builder to do IT
I recommend that you get the Black and Decker book titled The Complete Guide to Home Plumbing or something close to this. I got mine at Home Depot but Amazon probably is cheaper. It is a excellent reference that is heavily photographed and diagrammed and offers step by step installation for the exact project you are undertaking. Plumbing is difficult, equipment intensive and complex so what you are doing is a large project although the materials, other than the toilets themselves, are not expensive.
i would say a builder is your best bet, by the sounds of it you really don't have any ideas what your doing, diy can be false economy the money you save on diy and very quickly lost by the fact that due to the quality of the craftsman ship is poor and will need to be maintain and even replaced at a sooner point than it would if the work was carried out by a craftsman!!
stick to a builder is safer
